 Water Distribution System: Pumps and pipes distribute warm water from the process to the cooling tower, where it is cooled and returned to the system.

Benefits of Open-Loop Systems:

 Cost-effective: Generally lower initial investment and operational costs compared to closed-loop systems.

 High Efficiency: Effective for large-scale applications requiring significant heat dissipation.

Closed-Loop Cooling Systems:

Closed-loop systems recirculate cooling fluids within a sealed circuit, using air or water to remove heat without direct exposure to the environment. Key components include:

 Heat Exchangers: These devices transfer heat from the process fluid to a secondary cooling medium, such as air or water, without direct contact.

 Cooling Coils or Fins: Used to dissipate heat from the fluid into the surrounding air or another cooling medium.

 Pumps and Valves: Regulate the flow of cooling fluids through the system to ensure efficient heat removal.
